Executive Summary: How this mammoth logistics project was successfully completed

Hamburger Sparkasse (HASPA) faced a major logistical challenge: relocating 1,700 employees to the new company headquarters, the state-of-the-art ‘Deutschlandhaus’ on Hamburg’s Gänsemarkt. With 30,000 square metres of office space, the building offers the latest technology and the largest neighbourhood branch in the city centre. Thanks to the ease of use of docu tools, the defect management process was efficiently controlled, including the coordination of numerous internal project groups and external partners. The user-friendly software enabled precise defect documentation using pins, fast task distribution and seamless communication. A smooth transition to the new working environment was achieved within just a few months.

Challenge accepted: From roll-out to move-in

The #HASPA ONE project presented a number of challenges that required careful planning and effective implementation. The logistical complexity of relocating more than 1,700 employees and merging three previously separate locations into the new headquarters was only the beginning. Miriam Tomforde, sub-project manager for rollout management at Haspa, describes the situation as follows: ‘Every day brought new challenges to overcome. The key was to efficiently coordinate everyone involved – from our employees to the external contractors and architects.’ Despite the logistical complexity and the inevitable minor shortcomings, the entire rollout team always focused on creating a ‘wow effect’ for all employees when they moved in.
